From an early age of four, Buddhist values and identity are incalculated at the Sunday Dhamma School in every Sri Lankan temple. A strong bond is forged between the temple and the children that often last throughout their lives. The Bodhiraja Sunday Dhamma School has more than 1500 students and a staff of 60 consisting of both monks and lay teachers. In addition, the Foundation manages five other Sunday schools in temples within the area. With no fanciful furniture or modern classrooms, classes are often held in the open, or simply under the trees.
